2008 Sayles Family Reunion
“Carrying the Torch”
August 15-17, 2008
New York City

Hello Family!

On behalf of the Sayles Family of New York we send you blessings and greetings!

We are pleased to announce that plans for the 2008 Sayles Family Reunion are underway, as we have secured hotels for the weekend of August 15th. The hotels are located in the heart of New York City, across from the famed Madison Square Garden and next to Macy’s Department Store.

As a native of New York, I can assure you that you will experience the excitement of the city as the slogan states, “New York, New York a city so great they named it twice!”

From sitting in Central Park, walking around Times Square, taking in a Broadway show, such as The Color Purple, or shopping on Canal Street for great bargains. New York offers that and much, much more!

Our theme for 2008 is “Carrying the Torch” as we decided to place emphasis on the children because they are our future. We have arranged an outing specifically for the children at New Roc City Arcade Palace. This will allow the parents to take in some of the sites mentioned above.

I am sure as you are reading you are asking yourself, “Ok, New York City, I wonder how much this is going to cost?”

Well in addition to the items mentioned above let me also say, we have set up a savings plan whereas you can send money monthly to our Treasurer. This will prevent having to come up with the cost of the hotel or other expenses last minute. We will send monthly statements as to how much you have in your account.

As an additional saving to you, we have elected to forgo the banquet so that we can spend more time together at the picnic as well as taking in the sites of the city.

Please except this letter as an introduction realizing you will have questions I will be sending out an additional letter with more information, i.e. how to set up your individual savings account and a schedule of the events for our reunion weekend.

I look forward to seeing you in New York in 2008!
